  1. This is our 2nd year and I am still struggling with this. Last year we had 9 people total, including my parents. We already have 12 people this year, so I am pretty excited about reaching our goal of 20-25. Here is what we are doing this year:

    - designing team shirts that they can purchase for a small extra fee

    - anyone who registers by this Friday gets entered intro a drawing for a chance to receive their team shirt for free

    - we are organizing group training sessions twice a week after work for all levels: walkers, run/walk for beginners, and intermediate runners

    - we created a blog (http://ucfcdl5k.blogspot.com/), facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orlando/OnlineUCF-Corporate-5k-Team/296906602727), and twitter page (http://twitter.com/ucfcdl5k) for our team. The blog syndicates to twitter and facebook. We used these to post updates, promotions, and tally as our team grows.

    - we've asked each participant to post a profile on the blog describing their background, why they joined the team, and their goals. We're hoping that reading each other's stories will motivate others to join. They can also use the blog to post about their progress during training. http://ucfcdl5k.blogspot.com/search/label/profiles

    - last year, one of our runners ran with a video camera. We created a video with his footage and photos we took before, during, and after the race.

    - we are also turning this into a wellness challenge so anyone can participate. Even if they can't walk or run, they can come cheer us on while pursuing their own wellness journey.
